Long List of Governors Warn that They Won’t Put Up with Biden’s Gun Grabs

Joe Biden, the 47th vice president of the United States, was the featured guest for the Tom Johnson Lectureship at the LBJ Presidential Library on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017. The conversation was moderated by Mark Updegrove, former director of the LBJ Library. Biden represented Delaware for 36 years in the U.S. Senate before serving as vice president from 2009 to 2017 in the administration of President Barack Obama. As vice president, Biden addressed important issues facing the nation and represented America abroad, traveling over 1.2 million miles to more than 50 countries. He convened sessions of the President's Cabinet, led interagency efforts, and worked with Congress in his fight to raise the living standards of middle-class Americans, reduce gun violence, address violence against women, and end the devastation of cancer. The event was held in the LBJ Auditorium and was the fifth annual Tom Johnson lecture. The lecture series was created to honor Tom Johnson, who served for 30 years as chairman of the Lyndon Baines Johnson Foundation Board of Trustees. Johnson also served as executive assistant to President Johnson and, later, as president and then chairman of CNN. 10/03/2017 LBJ Library photo by Jay Godwin

A growing list of governors have warned that they won’t allow Joe Biden to start stealing America’s guns and trample their Second Amendment rights.

Last week, Biden began announcing his plans for curtailing the Second Amendment with neither lawful action, nor the Constitutional process. On Thursday, Biden told the country that he intends to use executive orders to cancel the Constitution.

Biden lied repeatedly during his Rose Garden address about his plans to take away our guns. Biden told lies about gun shows, background checks, and the U.S. Constitution as he attacked our Second Amendment rights and spoke of his desire to take our rights away from us by his autocratic executive order.

But the commander in cheat’s proclamations did not sit well with multiple governors and the state they represent.

Per the Daily Wire:

Numerous governors immediately pushed back on Biden’s attack on Second Amendment rights and indicated that they will be taking action to protect their residents from Biden’s agenda.

“Biden is threatening our 2nd Amendment rights. He just announced a new liberal power grab to take away our guns,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) wrote on Twitter. “We will NOT allow this in TX. It’s time to get legislation making TX a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State passed and to my desk for signing.”

According to Daily Wire, those governors include Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy (R), Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (R), Idaho Governor Brad Little (R), South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R), and Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon (R).

Many of these states have already either passed or have introduced state laws that would nullify federal laws that would cancel their citizens’ Second Amendment rights.
