Last week, liberals began crowing about how putting on two masks was somehow double the protection. Even Dr. Fauci at first claimed there was a benefit to the idea. But now Fauci is admitting that double masking really has no benefit at all.
A week ago, Fauci appeared on the Today show to tout the “common sense” of wearing two masks instead of one.
“If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective,” Fauci exclaimed. “And that’s the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95.”
But is this right? Are two masks better than one?
Now, even Fauci is backtracking.
“There are many people who feel, you know if you really wanna have an extra little bit of protection ‘maybe I should put two masks on.’ There’s nothing wrong with that, but there’s no data that indicates that that is going to make a difference. and that’s the reason why the CDC has not changed their recommendations,” Fauci said.

So, the media’s COVID savior goes from touting the “common sense” of the double mask to saying maybe it isn’t the best idea only five days later.
That’s yet another head-spinning about face by the man who has been on every side of this crisis.
Fauci went from saying the coronavirus is no big deal, to saying it was the worst thing ever, from saying don’t wear masks, to saying you must wear one, to saying you should wear two, and then back to one, again. And he also was on both sides of the school opening argument, too. He was for opening them before he was for closing them.
