Cornell University is forsaking “science” for racebaiting by only requiring white students to be vaccinated for the coronavirus because medicine is apparently racist against blacks.
The university has officially announced that black students and other POC students (that would be “people of color”) because white people have “mistreated” minorities in the past.
It look like Cornell is saying that the coronavirus doesn’t infect black people because the virus is down with the struggle… or … or something.
The relevant passage is seen on Cornell’s vaccine compliance policy webpage which reads (my bold):
We recognize that, due to longstanding systemic racism and health inequities in this country, individuals from some marginalized communities may have concerns about needing to agree to such requirements. For example, historically, the bodies the of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) have been mistreated, and used by people in power, sometimes for profit or medical gain. It is understandable that the current Compact requirements may feel suspect or even exploitative to some BIPOC members of the Cornell community. Additionally, recent acts of violence against Black people by law enforcement may contribute to feelings of distrust or powerlessness.
You see? Because decades ago, there may have been some misconduct, blacks today don’t have to take a vaccine because it might make them feel uncomfortable.
Feelings trump science.
If you feel bad about a vaccine, then you don’t have to take it… but only if you’re black.
Couldn’t one see this as Cornell saying they don’t mind if blacks die of the virus, but they for sure want the white people to live, so the whites are required to vaccinate?
Why isn’t it seen that way, anyway?
