Democrats and leftist activist groups poured $293 million into races to unseat Republicans across the country but saw few results from all that cash.
Thanks to the nonsense being spewed by the pollsters, Democrats thought a blue wave was coming and spent that $293 million in Senate races from coast to coast. But now that the elections are over, they have next to nothing to show for it.
This effort wasn’t only funded by deep pocketed liberals, either. Small-dollar donors everywhere put their hard-earned money into this now mythic “blue wave” election. And they wasted their cash on it all.
According to liberal “news” site Axios, here are the sad (OK, funny) results of all that campaign cash:
South Carolina
Democrat Jaime Harrison lost to incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and spent $108.9 million on the race. Harrison’s loss to Graham is now the most expensive loss in U.S. Senate history.
Kentucky
Democrat Amy McGrath lost to incumbent Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and spent $90 million on the race.
Texas
Democrat Mary Hegar lost to incumbent Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) and spent $24 million on the race.
Maine
Democrat Sara Gideon lost to incumbent Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) and spent $69.5 million on the race.
The Democrats did pick up two Senate seats in Colorado and Arizona, and they might have Michigan, it isn’t nearly enough to win control of the Senate.
The Democrats also spent millions on races for the House of representatives. Despite forecasts that they could gain more than ten House seats, it looks more like it is the GOP that gained seats, not the Democrats.
The left also poured cash into races all across the country in state and local elections, too. But they did not win any controlling interests in any state legislatures… in fact, in some cases they LOST ground to the GOP. As of Tuesday, the GOP is in a stronger position in most of the country.
