Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the top fundraising freshman lawmaker but has almost zero known donors from her own district.
Ouch! Only 10 people who live within Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional district have been recorded making donations to her reelection campaign in 2019, according to a Daily Caller News Foundation analysis of available FEC filings.
Almost all of AOC’s $$$ has come from outside her district. The people she’s supposed to represent and be a voice for, don’t support her or agree with her. Our representatives should be going to Washington on OUR behalf, not their own.https://t.co/11FRZuJGfs#ThursdayThoughts

take our poll - story continues below
A new analysis of those who have given political contributions to socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) reelection campaign has reportedly found that only 10 contributors live inside her district.
“The FEC only requires that political campaigns disclose the names and addresses of individuals who contribute over $200 to their campaigns during an election,” The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Andrew Kerr reported. “The $1,525.50 Ocasio-Cortez received from her New York constituents represents less than 1% of her campaign’s itemized contributions reported to the FEC in the first half of 2019.”
While Ocasio-Cortez has outraised all other freshman representatives, the DCNF found that she falls significantly short of the average amount of money that freshman representatives have raised within their own districts.
“The average freshman representative’s reelection campaign received $107,141.29 in itemized contributions from their constituents in the first half of 2019, FEC filings the DCNF analyzed show,” Kerr writes. “Ocasio-Cortez’s reported in-district fundraising haul of $1,525.50 was just 1.4% of that average.” More
That’s because Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has done zero to help her own district. She joined the witch-hunt and has shown remarkable ignorance almost every time she opens her mouth.
And that is the district she deprived of Amazon HQ and all the growth it would have brought for small business owners in the area.

I don’t care which party someone is in it should be illegal for a candidate for office to take donations from people outside the district they want to represent. It is a clear conflict of interest.
unless there is a credible primary challenger they will still show up and vote for her, they just aren’t going to invest their own money and leave it to the lunatic fringe nationally to underwrite it
