The inspector general says James Comey violated policy by leaking memos, but the DOJ declined to prosecute.
According to an Office of the Inspector General’s report released today, Comey violated DOJ and FBI policies, as well as the FBI’s employment agreement, by keeping copies of four of his memos in a personal safe and asking a law professor friend to make one memo public after President Trump fired him.
Comey is delusional.
DOJ IG “found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media.” I don’t need a public apology from those who defamed me, but a quick message with a “sorry we lied about you” would be nice.

They said James Comey improperly released sensitive info, took memos he shouldn’t have, then improperly leaked them. Not only that but that he lied about them and didn’t reveal to investigators that he had them stashed in his home.
DOJ IG: it’s “particularly concerning that Comey did not tell anyone from the FBI that he had retained copies of the Memos in his personal safe at home, even when his [COS], the FBI’s [ADD], & 3 SSAs came to Comey’s house on May 12, 2017, to inventory & remove all FBI property.” pic.twitter.com/wvCCGZJtuR

And to all those who’ve spent two years talking about me “going to jail” or being a “liar and a leaker”—ask yourselves why you still trust people who gave you bad info for so long, including the president.

Because you did lie and leak?
IG Report on Comey’s handling of classified memos is out. Page 2 says Comey specifically asked his friend to leak a memo to Michael Schmidt of the NYT. Schmidt regularly received and regurgitated leaks that falsely suggested a treasonous Russia collusion conspiracy existed.

Comey didn’t just violate Trump’s civil liberties with his leaks, IG says on Page 60: “Comey set a dangerous example for the over 35,000 current FBI employees—and the many thousands more former FBI employees—who similarly have access to or knowledge of non-public information.”

Of Comey’s flouting of the rule of law, IG says on Page 61: “In
a country built on the rule of law, it is of utmost importance that all FBI employees adhere to Department and FBI policies…” IG notes office previously recorded Comey’s failure to adhere to FBI policy.— Mollie (@MZHemingway) August 29, 2019
Comey’s own staff on his leaking against Trump for vengeance: “Comey’s closest advisors used the words ‘surprised,’ ‘stunned,’ ‘shocked,’ and ‘disappointment’ to describe their reactions to learning what Comey had done.” Page 61.

OIG referred you for prosecution for mishandling classified info; the “removal, delivery, loss, theft” of classified info; and failure to report the removal/theft of such documents. DOJ won’t prosecute you. This time.

It’s pretty shocking that despite all this, despite leaking and being deceitful, he will suffer no consequences.
The OIG determined you violated FBI policy AND your Employment Agreement.
The damning report says you “set a dangerous example for over 35,000 current FBI employees, to achieve a personally desired outcome.”
It’s the public, FBI and President who deserve an apology from you.

[mashshare]The report called you a “dirty cop” who released sensitive material in violation of your oath of office.
