Megachurch Pastor Who Refused To Call Abortion Sin On ‘The View’ Suddenly Changes His Tune

Carl Lentz, pastor of Hillsong Church NYC is changing his tune about abortion, coming out and calling it ‘shameful and demonic.’

Awhile back Lentz made an appearance on everyone’s favorite liberal squawk show — yes, “squawk,” not “talk” — where he refused to come out and call abortion a sin, a belief that the overwhelming majority of Christians hold to across America.

During his time on the show, Lentz skirted questions asked by co-host Joy Behar about whether or not he believed abortion to be a sin.

His answer basically consisted of the very slippery “God’s the judge.” Why, yes, Mr. Lentz, God is the judge. And He says murder is sin. Since abortion is the murder of an unborn child, it’s safe to say a logical connection can be made that says abortion, being murder, is indeed a sin.

Lentz went on to respond by saying, “People have to live to their own convictions, and I think if I have to tell you … that’s such a broad question to me.”

Behar wasn’t having it, insisting instead that Lentz give a straight answer, saying “So it’s not an open-and-shut case with you?”

“Some people would say it is. I think, to me, I’m trying to teach people who Jesus is first, find out their story before I start picking and choosing what I think is sin in your life, I’d like to know your name,” Lentz said.

Well, Lentz recently posted on Instagram that abortion is “shameful” and “demonic” in a response to New York’s brutal new abortion bill that allows babies to murdered after 24 weeks.

Found this old photo recently, and I remember it taking me years to process that these LITTLE PEOPLE, had come into our world! A miracle, without a doubt. And I’m saddened and angry that we are now a state that has made it legal to have an abortion even into the last day of a pregnancy. I spent hours talking to lawyers and people who hold opposing views on this issue. Although it is layered and there is language in it that some are claiming will protect mothers in peril, the only way I can describe where we are and where this is all headed..is evil, shameful and demonic. I dont use those words lightly, but they are applicable here. Some have said this is strictly a “women’s rights issue.” i dont disagree. We simply believe that WOMEN IN THE WOMB deserve the right to life, deserve the right to breath. Laws like this say unless you have a voice, if somebody deems you “viable/non viable” you have no protection. Psalm 139, tells us otherwise. I have hope still, that God will help us raise our collective voices, to see this change. This cannot stand. …I know @hillsongnyc and many many other churches and organizations have been working hard for years to create options and help for those dealing with a pregnancy that is overwhelming for many reasons. And we will continue to do so. I’m also aware that often “pro-life politics”(while also supporting the death penalty, of course) have been quick to condemn abortion and the people that have them and then be invisible and hypocritical when it comes to helping women in need, in poverty, those who cannot gain access to proper medical care and creating policies that can help those that dont choose abortion. Those are facts. But this law, isn’t about politics. This is about generations of babies that have no defense. Despite this dark day, our future is STILL bright because we know where our help comes from. #occupyallstreets

Lentz is right on about abortion being both shameful and demonic. What kind of a nation can possibly hope to be a free people if it willingly murders it’s children in the womb?

Our founders noted that liberty is for a moral people. A moral people do not murder their weakest, most vulnerable citizens. They protect them. If we want to remain free, we have got to abolish abortion.

God will surely judge this nation if we don’t.
