Trump Cheers On Covington Catholic Student As He Strikes Back Against Washington Post

President Trump recently weighed in on Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann’s $250 million lawsuit against majority left-leaning Washington Post Wednesday morning, telling the young man to “Go get them Nick.”

“‘The Washington Post ignored basic journalistic standards because it wanted to advance its well-known and easily documented biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump,'” Trump wrote, quoting from the lawsuit filed Tuesday by Sandmann’s lawyers.

“Covington student suing WAPO. Go get them Nick. Fake News!” Trump declared.

About a half-hour before his message to Sandmann, Trump tweeted out another “fake news”-related post addressing the kind of bias-driven, reckless reporting that characterized the media’s handling of the Covington Catholic incident.

“The Press has never been more dishonest than it is today. Stories are written that have absolutely no basis in fact. The writers don’t even call asking for verification. They are totally out of control,” Trump wrote. “Sadly, I kept many of them in business,” he added, then signed off with a prediction: “In six years, they all go BUST!

As The Daily Wire reported Tuesday, Sandmann’s formidable team of lawyers, Lin Wood and Todd McMurtry, filed the first in what they promised would be “many” lawsuits against those entities that smeared their client after a context-less video featuring the Covington High School teens and Native American activist Nathan Phillips went viral.

Given the libel that the Washington Post lobbed at this poor young man, it seems pretty clear they deserve to be sued. The way they covered this story without all of the facts demonstrates a clear disregard for journalistic ethics and a lack of integrity.

It showcased blatant media bias, revealing WaPo to be all in to destroy the Trump administration by vilifying his supporters.

Shame on you, WaPo. Shame on you.
