Ruperto Escobar, a seventh generation Texas rancher, spoke recently with the good folks over at “Fox & Friends,” stating that he’s more than willing to part with some of his land to ensure that a border wall gets built.
One of the reasons Escobar is so gung-ho for the wall is that he’s personally witnessed drug trafficking near his ranch in Roma, Texas, right on the banks of the Rio Grande.
“I’ve lived there 75 years and I’ve seen everything,” he said, explaining that it’s common to see drug traffickers speeding back to the Mexican side of the border with law enforcement in pursuit.
Escobar has said he would allow the government to use some of his land to construct a border barrier to help stop the flow of drugs and illegal aliens.
He had a strong response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif) claim that a border wall would be “immoral.”
“M’am, I don’t know where you get your facts, but what we have endured in my lifetime, which is about 75 years now — of seeing the number of illegals coming across here, trampling over our fences, the drug dealers tearing down our gates — that is immoral,” Escobar said.
As you can see, leftists and the media are feeding folks a false narrative concerning what’s really happening at the border. These bleeding heart types act as if only hard working, desperate, otherwise law abiding citizens are coming across the border, looking to join the land of opportunity.
In reality, the vast majority of these individuals are criminals looking to come into our country and take advantage of our system, sucking up resources that are desperately needed for our own citizens.
Drug trafficking, human trafficking, murderous gangbangers, all sorts of awful things.
We cannot all that in our country. Period.
Here’s to hoping the wall gets funded soon.
