According to federal law, we are not allowed to discriminate due to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age or political preference. Yet, Barack Obama pushed a program that violated federal anti-discrimination laws.
These federal laws were passed to help end discrimination, largely based upon the color of a person’s skin. The laws are strictly enforced, unless it works to the advantage of ethnic minorities with darker skin color, such as Affirmative Action, which gives preferential treatment to people with darker skin color. Under Affirmative Action, better qualified students are passed over for college entrance just so the school can admit enough minority students. The same thing happens in some hiring practices.
Yesterday, President Trump ended Obama’s Affirmative Action for college entrance.
(Newsmax) – The Trump administration plans to revoke guidelines that encourage considering race in the college admissions process as a way of promoting diversity, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
The guidelines, put in place in the Obama administration in 2011 and 2016, put forth legal recommendations that Trump officials contend “mislead schools to believe that legal forms of affirmative action are simpler to achieve than the law allows,” the Journal reported, citing two people familiar with the plans.
Trump administration officials plan to argue the guidelines go beyond what the Supreme Court has decided on the issue…
Many conservatives have contended that Affirmative Action is nothing more then legalized racial discrimination in reverse, in that it discriminates against Caucasians and gives preferential treatment to black Americans. It’s also one of many examples of the double standards that liberal Democrats live by.
