Pompeo Touts Trump Over Obama’s Failure to Prevent Russian Election Interference

It’s common knowledge that Barack Obama and his administration failed miserably in preventing Russia from trying to interfere and influence our 2016 presidential election. They knew about the Russian interference months before the election and did absolutely nothing to prevent it nor did they say anything to anyone about it until AFTER Donald Trump was elected. Then and only then did it become an issue.

President Trump’s new Secretary of State, Mike Pompei blasted Obama by saying that Trump is light years ahead of Obama in preventing Russian election interference. He also states that there is no way that the US will tolerate Russian Interference in our elections, not even this year’s midterm elections.

(Washington Examiner) – Secretary of State Mike Pompeo testified Wednesday that the Trump administration is “light years” ahead of the Obama administration in its position to prevent and respond to Russian interference in U.S. elections.

“There is a great deal of more work to do,” Pompeo told members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “Having said that, I am incredibly proud of the work that this administration has done in countering Russia. It is light years better than was done in the previous administration.”

“We will not tolerate Russian interference in our 2018 elections,” he added. “Rest assured, we will take the appropriate counter measures in response to the continued Russian efforts.” …

Some have said that Russia was working to influence elections prior to 2016 but since Obama was still in charge, it was no big deal. One has to wonder why the Obama administration did nothing about the Russian interference before the election. They sure made it look like a huge major scandal after Trump won, but before he won, it wasn’t a big deal at all, demonstrating more of the double standards of the Democrats.
