For over a decade, the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals has been the most liberal court in all of America, with the thanks of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Obama especially made a big effort to place as many liberal judges who would likely rule on their liberal agenda over the rule of law or the Constitution, on federal courts all over the land, however, Democrat Jimmy Carter could be credited as placing one of the most liberal judges on a UC Circuit Court of Appeals in 1980 with the nomination of Stephen Reinhardt to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Reinhardt died on March 29, 2018 leaving his seat on the bench vacant and one that President Donald Trump is eager to fill with a conservative.
(The Daily Caller) – Fearing a conservative jurist would replace Judge Stephen Reinhardt, the liberal lion of the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a prominent progressive legal scholar quietly urged him to retire in the spring of 2014.
U.C. Berkeley School of Law Dean Erwin Chemerinsky approached Reinhardt just months before the 2014 midterm elections and suggested he retire, The New York Times reported Saturday.
Reinhardt refused the overtures. Months later, Republicans assumed control of the Senate, effectively ending former President Barack Obama’s judicial confirmations. President Donald Trump’s election forced the judge into an awkward actuarial battle, an increasingly common phenomenon as judicial appointments become highly politicized. He died on March 29 at 87…
Twenty-five of Reinhardt’s rulings were challenged and taken up before the US Supreme Court who overturned 24 of the 25. Such a record speaks for itself as the nature of his rulings and why the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals held the distinction as the most liberal and anti-American court in all the land. With appointing his third judge to the 9th court, President Trump should be able to change the court’s reputation and change it into one of the most conservative and law-abiding courts in the land.
