Ventura Murder – Gun Control & Racist Hypocrisy

What could be more horrifying for a 5-year-old girl than to be sitting on her father’s lap in a restaurant when someone comes up and stabs her dad in the neck?

That’s what happened to the 5-year-old daughter of Anthony Mele, 35, as he, his wife and daughter were enjoying a meal at the Aloha Steakhouse, Wednesday night. While the girl was happily sitting on her daddy’s lap, 49-year-old Jamal Jackson, a homeless black American, reportedly walked into the restaurant, approached Mele and stabbed him in the neck. Mele was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery to save his life, but Thursday evening, he was taken off of life support and declared dead.

Mele’s daughter is old enough to remember this horrifying event for the rest of her life. It wouldn’t be surprising for both his daughter and wife to have nightmares, reliving their last night together as a family and then stabbing and blood everywhere.

A group of people who witnessed the attack chased Jackson out of the restaurant and onto a nearby beach. He was arrested by the Ventura police and is being held in lieu of a $1.05 million bond. Under California law, Jackson could receive a sentence up to 55-years in prison, if he is convicted.

There is a GoFundMe page that was started to help the widow and daughter.

This senseless murder shows why gun control is not the solution to resolving the violence in America today. Police have not said where Jackson got his knife or what kind of knife it was but nevertheless, Jackson was determined to injure or kill Mele for reasons not yet revealed and he didn’t need a gun to do it.

Have you noticed that since the Valentine’s Day shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that there seems to be an increase in the number of stabbings? For the past two months, there have been more stabbings reported around the country.

Democrats, the mainstream media and thousands of emotionally misguided high school students are calling for more gun control. They believe that passing more gun control will reduce the violence and keep people safer.

California has some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation and guess what, Anthony Mele was still killed while his daughter was sitting on his lap. California’s gun control laws didn’t prevent this murder.

Additionally, whenever a non-black American kills a black American, black activists and the media instantly make it an issue of race. Regardless of the circumstances, they always feel that the black American is the victim, even if that black America was resisting arrest or attacking a police officer.

But where is the racial outcry and protests when a black American kills a non-black American? Why isn’t that just as much a matter of racism as when the roles are reversed? Where is Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton when a Jamal Jackson, a black American brutally stabbed a dad in front of his young daughter and wife? Where is Black Lives Matter? Where is the media outcry?

Clearly, the senseless murder of Anthony Mele and the response by the media, liberals and black activists show the hypocrisy of what they claim. Evidently, non-black lives don’t matter to them. Additionally, if they cared about violence, they should be calling for some kind of laws controlling knives, especially when stabbings are increasing. Again, a demonstration of the hypocrisy of the gun control movement.
