Arizona teachers are protesting like teachers in so many other states. They are protesting for higher wages, better benefits and often over their uncertain pension plans. In Kentucky, many teachers have been protesting the new state law that forces all new teachers into a 401K hybrid pension plan. A good friend of mine has been a teacher for 10 years in Kentucky and is thinking of moving out of state because he doesn’t believe he will have a pension in 10 more years.

The teacher protests in Arizona are supposedly bipartisan protests, or at least that is how they are being referred to. However, the protests are being lead by Noah Karvelis who has been a campaign manager for a local Democrat and has worked closely with other Democratic operatives. His past is a clear indicator that the protest is anything but bipartisan, since Arizona is a Republican lead state.

(Washington Free Beacon) – The man leading an Arizona teacher protest that labels itself as “bipartisan” has in the past year worked with partisan election groups launched by Democratic operatives after the 2016 election and was hired last year to manage a Democrat’s campaign.

Questions were raised last week regarding the background of Noah Karvelis, a teacher who has been the face of the highly visible #RedforEd push for increased teacher salaries, after Arizona governor Doug Ducey (R.) labeled him a political operative and chose to keep him out of talks on education spending.

“What I don’t want to do is get into these political operatives’ political circus,” Ducey said, calling into question the political motives of Karvelis’s group, which says it is nonpartisan. He said he would work with “decision makers” and separate out “political activists.” …

Karvelis has a history of being a political activist or more precise, a Democratic political activist and his motives in the past have been anything but nonpartisan. Him claiming to be nonpartisan is like Pelosi, Clinton, Obama, Biden and Schumer claiming to be nonpartisan. Karvelis is not being honest about what he is doing and Arizona’s teachers need to understand that and call him out for his deception.
