I’ve known several people who have worked as social workers and from what I have heard, it can sometimes be a dangerous job. Imagine walking into someone’s home and telling them they could lose their kids or something similar. One social worker I knew dealt mostly with trying to help ex-convicts and drug addicts to find a job, and he told me that he often felt very threatened and frightened.
I never knew if any of them had a concealed carry permit and I never asked, but evidently, having a concealed carry permit is enough to keep you from working as a social worker, or if you are, it can get you fired as in the case of Storm Durham in Roanoke, Virginia who had 3 police escort her out of the building she worked in, not for having her gun with her, which she didn’t, but just for having the concealed carry permit, which in their eyes made her a threat.
(Constitution.com) – A social worker from Roanoke, Virginia is claiming that she was fired from her job as a social worker for having a concealed carry license. Not for carrying a gun into her job, but simply for having a concealed carry permit!
I kid you not.
I was fired today. From Roanoke City Social Services, serving as a damn good social worker. I was fired for having a concealed carry permit. Not the gun, the permit. I was escorted by 3 city police officers bc I am a “safety risk to the building”
This is her side of the story, and we’ve yet to hear anything from her the Roanoke social services office so we can’t be 100% sure (yet) about what really happened.
However, if her story is accurate, and it sure does have the ‘ring of truth,’ then this is another explosive example of the anti-Constitution leftism that has become commonplace in America today…
Durham stressed to her bosses that she has never had her gun with her on her job but they say they didn’t care. Just her having the permit was enough for them to consider her a safety risk to the building she worked in. America is being run by more and more liberals who unfairly push their agenda into the work place. Hopefully, Dunham will file a wrongful termination lawsuit against the department.
