Hezbollah is an Islamic political party based in Lebanon that has long been known for its terrorist activities, largely aimed at Israel. There has also been some connection between the terrorist activities of Hezbollah and Palestinian terrorist like Hamas.

Since Obama and Kerry helped Iran become ore powerful, they have been exerting some influence with Hezbollah, causing concern for Israel and the United States. In response, the Trump administration just placed a series of sanctions on individuals and businesses in the Middle East and Africa that have links to Hezbollah. Part of the sanctions involve the US freezing all assets here in the US, of 6 people and 7 companies connected with Hezbollah.

(Fox News) – The Trump administration announced Friday that it was slapping fresh sanctions on Hezbollah-linked individuals and businesses in Africa and the  Middle East — a move to limit not only the operations of the terrorist group, but also Iran’s influence in the region.

The Treasury announced that it is targeting a network of companies and individuals in Lebanon, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Liberia and other countries linked to Hezbollah financier Adham Tabaja.

The sanctions freeze assets in the U.S. and prevent Americans from doing business with any of the six individuals and seven companies. The U.S. has designated Hezbollah a terrorist organization that also plays a major political role in Lebanon…

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said these sanctions are just the first actions against the terrorist organization that he claimed as being responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American citizens. The move was made in hopes of not hurting the economy of Lebanon, but they are designed to hurt Hezbollah and sever the ties with Iran.
