Liberal Company’s Plan to add Billions to Economy

The leadership of Apple is as liberal as can be. They have contributed to numerous liberal political campaigns, court cases or charitable organizations. They also have been outspoken against President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans, so one would not expect them to take measures to help the Trump economy grow, but that’s exactly what they have announced they intend to do.

Over the next 5 years, Apple plans to contribute $350 billion into the US economy. Additionally, they will use $5 billion for the Advanced Manufacturing Fund and create an additional 20,000 jobs.

(Apple Newsroom) – Apple today announced a new set of investments to build on its commitment to support the American economy and its workforce, concentrated in three areas where Apple has had the greatest impact on job creation: direct employment by Apple, spending and investment with Apple’s domestic suppliers and manufacturers, and fueling the fast-growing app economy which Apple created with iPhone and the App Store. Apple is already responsible for creating and supporting over 2 million jobs across the United States and expects to generate even more jobs as a result of the initiatives being announced today.

Combining new investments and Apple’s current pace of spending with domestic suppliers and manufacturers — an estimated $55 billion for 2018 — Apple’s direct contribution to the US economy will be more than $350 billion over the next five years, not including Apple’s ongoing tax payments, the tax revenues generated from employees’ wages and the sale of Apple products.

Congressional Democrats swore up and down that the tax reform and tax cuts would not help the economy, would not create more jobs or be passed on to workers. So far, a number of companies have been passing on the tax cut savings to employees and now Apple is announcing a plan that also helps prove Democrats wrong and could help turn the 2018 elections to Republicans.
