Steve Bannon, executive director of Breitbart News, claims to be the mastermind behind Donald Trump’s victorious election triumph over Hillary Clinton. When he was replaced as Senior Counselor to the President, Bannon said he was still loyal to Donald Trump, but his newly released book seems to be painting a different picture.
In his book, Bannon claims that the infamous meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and the Russian attorney at Trump Tower was an act of treason.
President Trump responded to Bannon’s claim by saying that Bannon has nothing to do with him or his presidency and that Bannon has lost his mind.
(Fox News) – It’s probably safe to say the self-professed mastermind behind President Trump’s election won’t be back in 2020.
Trump issued a blistering, four-paragraph takedown of Steve Bannon Wednesday, hours after it was reported that Bannon called Donald Trump Jr. “treasonous” for meeting with Russian operatives during the campaign.
“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency,” Trump wrote. “When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating seventeen candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican party.”
The statement came after excerpts of a forthcoming book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” by author Michael Wolff surfaced Wednesday. In the book, Bannon slams the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., son-in-law Jared Kushner and campaign chairman Paul Manafort and calls their infamous meeting with a Russian lawyer during the campaign “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.” …
Bannon seems more like a self-grandiosing person who acts like he knows all, knows better than all and is more worthy than everyone else. I was surprised when Trump brought him on board his campaign and even more surprised when Trump made Bannon his senior counselor. I was ecstatic when Bannon left the White House. Bannon may be good at running a conservative news agency but he’s not what one would want with his political team.
