For two decades, the southern states grew increasingly angry over the domination in Congress of the northern states. Since the northern states had more voters, they had a greater representation in Congress and began passing laws that favored the northern states but not the southern states. Abraham Lincoln ran on an anti-slavery platform, his election in November in 1860 was the final straw that broke the back of the southern states.

Within a month of Lincoln’s inauguration, southern states began seceding from the United States and in February, formed the Confederate States of America.

On April 12, 1861, the first shots were fired that started the American Civil War, which lasted until May 9, 1865, with the surrender of the Confederacy to the Union (United States of America). The war pitted brother against brother, father against son and ripped the hearts of many mothers. When it was all over, approximately 365,000 Union forces died, 282,000 were wounded and 181,000 captured. The Confederacy suffered about 290,000 dead, 137,000 wounded and 436,000 wounded.

For the past decade, tensions once again began building in America, but not between the northern and southern states, but between Republicans and Democrats, Christians and non-Christians, conservatives and liberals, black Americans and white Americans and between normal people and LGBT activists.

In 2008, Barack Obama won the election and many of the tensions that existed were minor at the time. Obama’s policies only intensified the tensions between political, religious and family principles and ideologies, to the point that America is in the midst of an Un-Civil War.

By Un-Civil, I mean that many people are not civil in the way they are carrying out their war against the other. On the right, you have groups like the KKK and white supremacists and on the left, you have Antifa, LGBT activists, black American activists, mainstream media, social media and Democrats.

Under the Obama years, the racial divide in America grew from a small crack to a giant chasm. Obama inspired a war against law enforcement, which is still going strong today. Just this week, there were shootings of or at police officers in 4 different states. A few years ago, two New York police officers were assassinated while sitting in their car and in Dallas, 5 police officers were intentionally killed.

Democrats have no qualms with lying and misrepresenting their opponents. They often operate to no standard of civility, while holding Republicans to the highest level of civility.

Just take a look at the 2016 elections. It has now been revealed that the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid millions for a fake dossier with which they hoped to smear Donald Trump enough to sway the election. When accused of having a role in the dossier, Clinton, her campaign and the DNC denied any involvement. The company behind the dossier, Fusion GPS, had connections with Democrats and Russia. They paid the Russian attorney who met with Donald Trump Jr. They met with the Russian attorney just prior and immediately after the meeting. Don’t forget the allegations from a former DNC official that Hillary rigged the Party’s nomination.

When is the last time you ever heard the mainstream media report anything good or positive about President Donald Trump or congressional Republicans? If Trump says anything questionable, the media and Democrats run with it as if Trump told the biggest lie in the world. Yet, when a Democrat lies, like Sen. Dick Durbin, about what Trump allegedly said during a meeting, even after others in the meeting refute Durbin’s account, the media and Democrats are still ready to tar and feather Trump and ride him out of town on a rail.

Listen to Congressional Democrats and you will see that there is often no civility in what they say about Trump or Republicans. Their hatred is so evident that you can hear the venom in their words and see the daggers in their eyes as they speak of Trump and Republicans.

The Civil War took a huge toll on America, but the nation eventually began to recover and heal. The current Un-Civil War may end up destroying America once and for all, which would be far more devastating than the original Civil War.
