Like it or not, Democrats are going to continue to push for some sort of amnesty program for the 11-20 million illegal aliens currently in the United States, especially the 600,000 to 800,000 DACA illegals. Some Democrats in Congress were willing to shut the government down as part of their extortion plan to force Republicans into some sort of amnesty program.

Democrats don’t care about how many jobs they take away from Americans, nor do they seem to care about the billions of dollars these illegals cost local, state and federal governments. Yes, billions. In 2015, it was reported that illegal aliens cost US taxpayers over $90 billion a year. By September 2017, that annual cost of illegal aliens was reported to be $135 billion.

Virtually every amnesty program I’ve seen so far will not alleviate much of the financial cost, nor do they force illegals to truly earn amnesty or citizenship.

Some immigration reform groups fear that most of the forms of amnesty being pushed by Democrats will only lead to a huge number of immigrants. It’s call chain amnesty or chain immigration and it has been seen in the past.

Allow me to give you an example. Say there is an illegal married couple with four kids and they are granted amnesty. Chain amnesty or chain immigration starts to happen when the parents of each of the married couple is also granted immigration/amnesty status. Now you’ve gone from 6 to 10. Once the parents are granted the same protection, it then is extended to all of their other kids and their kids. It also gets extended to their parents and their kids. Before long, that original amnesty extended to a family of 6 becomes anywhere from 50 to 100 or more. Now, figure there are between 600,000 to 800,000 DACA recipients, do the math. Scarier yet, what if amnesty is extended to the 11 million to 20 million illegals in the US right now? How many will that really mean in the end?

If you do the math and realize that the majority of illegal Hispanics are Democratic supporters and future voters, now you know why Democrats are working so hard to make it happen. It would help them win control of Congress and the White House for many years.

As much as I’m against amnesty or a path to citizenship for the millions of illegals, there are only two options – deport all 11 million to 20 million illegals or provide some sort of acceptable amnesty program.

So, here is my proposal of THE ONLY acceptable amnesty program, and I’ll call it Indentured Amnesty.

If illegals really want to stay in the United States and become US citizens, then let them serve 1 year of indentured service to the US government for every year they have been in the US illegally. Then and only then will they have earned the right to be citizens.

That indentured service could be military or working in government projects like repairing America’s deteriorating highways, bridges and docks and pay them minimum wage. After all, we pay our military personnel at or below minimum wage, so there is now reason to pay illegals working to stay here more than we pay our military. Or, set the indentured service on the same pay scale as enlisted military personnel.

If a DACA recipient came here 10 years ago, then they owe the government 10 years of service in order to earn the privilege to remain here in the US and obtain citizenship. After all, they are called illegal aliens for a reason – they are here illegally which makes every one of them guilty of a criminal act, regardless of what age they were at the time. They’ve had plenty of time to take measures to correct their immigration status, but haven’t, so that makes them guilty.

If they are not willing to work for the right to live in America or they quit before their time has been served, then they are arrested and shipped to their home country. No gray area, no probation, no parole, no alternative. If they want to be an American bad enough, then let them earn it. If not, then bye-bye.
