The United States has tried to get the cooperation of as many nations as possible to impose strong sanctions against North Korea in hopes that the country will not be able to afford or obtain the resources necessary to back up their bloodthirsty threats.

Nikki Haley, US Ambassador to the United Nations has implored the General Assembly to impose the stiffest sanctions possible, but all they’ve done is issue a slap on the wrist which has little to no effect.

This time Haley addressed the UN Security Council and called on every nation in the world to sever all ties, trade and connections with North Korea, saying it may be the only way to prevent a nuclear war that no one wants.

(CNS News) – The Trump administration on Wednesday called on all countries to sever all ties with North Korea, and for the regime in Pyongyang to be deprived of its “rights and privileges” as a U.N. member-state.

At an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley said Kim Jong-un’s latest intercontinental ballistic missile launch has brought the rest of the world to “a critical decision point.”

She listed steps some nations have already taken to reduce or end diplomatic ties, expel North Korean ambassadors, and suspend or cut trade relations, but said that not all countries have put global security ahead of their own political and economic interests.

“Today,” Haley said, “we call on all nations to cut off all ties with North Korea.”

In her address to the UN Security Council, Haley informed them that President Donald Trump called and spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping and stressed the importance of China cutting off the oil supply to North Korea. If China cooperates, it will be a heavy blow to the regime of Kim Jong-un, but that’s if China cooperates.
