Blake Farenthold was elected to the US House of Representatives in 2010 and has continued to serve and be re-elected every 2-years since. He represents Texas’s 27th congressional district which includes the coastal area around Corpus Cristi.
The Republican congressman was planning on running for re-election in 2018, but announced that he will not seek re-election due to sexual allegations that have recently been made against him. After denying any sexual misconduct and noting that the ethics committee found no evidence of wrong doing, Farenthold called it quits. He is expected to serve his term, but due to the allegations will not seek another term.
