Ever since losing the presidential election to Barack Obama in 2008, Arizona Sen. John McCain has appeared to weaken on many of his stances and even reverse himself. In the past year, some have wondered if his brain tumor has affected his mental capacities and ability to reason as he has sided more with Democrats than he has with President Donald Trump.
It was McCain’s vote that sunk Senate Republicans’ effort to repeal and replace major provisions of Obamacare. He has come out against building a border wall, which being he is from a border state is a big shock and he has spoken out against the tax reform bill written by Senate Republicans.
Yesterday, it was reported that due to certain revisions McCain is now willing for vote for the tax reform bill, helping it get one vote closer to passing.
(Constitution.com) – President Donald Trump’s agenda has been under a constant threat of attack by the creatures lurking in the dark corners of the D.C. swamp.
One such beast, Senator John McCain of Arizona, has long been a thorn in the side of the newly elected President. The former POW, who many acknowledge had a part in aiding and abetting the enemy during his imprisonment, has thwarted every agenda piece that the Commander in Chief has attempted to pass so far in his young presidency.
Most disturbing, however, is how proud McCain has seemed while openly defying the will of the American people who elected Donald Trump to lead congress through the difficult and forthcoming changes. His panache for the dramatic culminated in his over-acted “thumbs down” display during one such legislative session weeks ago.
McCain seems to enjoy overturning Trump’s apple cart – a disturbingly errant way for any public servant to behave. That’s why observers were stunned to hear that the aging Senator may actually be on board with the Trump tax plan…
I truly fear that my beloved state of Arizona may soon tip the tide of power in the US Senate as both Republican Senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake have announced they will not seek re-election. The state was a conservative Republican state for years, but with the increasing Hispanic population and younger liberal or socialist generation, Democrats are gaining control of the state.
