Once again in America, the land of the free where we are guaranteed the freedom of religion by the First Amendment of the US Constitution, we see where the complaint of one person demolishes that constitutional freedom.

A Pennsylvania family had a Christmas display in their front yard, but they were ordered to take it down by the homeowner’s association. The problem is that they had a light sign over a lighted nativity scene. The lit sign simply read Jesus. One neighbor complained that the display was offensive, so the HA ordered them to take it down.

(Fox News) – A Pennsylvania family was ordered by their homeowner’s association to take down their Jesus Christmas display after one of the neighbors reported it as offensive.

Mark and Lynn Wivell of Adams County, a Gettysburg subdivision, said they put up their Jesus display last Saturday, FOX43 reported.

“As part of our Christmas decoration, we would display the name Jesus to point out to everyone that we in this family believe that the reason for the season is to celebrate the birth of Jesus,” said Mark Wivell told FOX43.

But the homeowner’s association wasn’t having it.

On Sunday, the association told the family to take down the sign after a neighbor complained it was offensive. The homeowner’s association also claimed the display was a sign, not a decoration – which is a violation of the rules, USA Today reported…

It’s time that Christians raise their voices in protest against the few who are offended. What would the homeowner’s association do if they received hundreds of complaints from residents who said they were offended by their actions in ordering the Jesus Christmas display removed? Every time one or two non-believers complain they are offended, hundreds of Christians need to complain that they are offended by the complaints and actions of the non-believers. It’s time we stand up for our faith and our Savior.
