Do you recall seeing cartoons or any slapstick comedy where someone is out on a limb and saws off the limb between themselves and the tree? The person is portrayed as being dumb and totally oblivious to what they are doing or what the consequences are.

This is a portrayal of many of the policies of the Democratic Party. For example, they want to reduce violence, but then want to ban guns instead of allowing more people to have the right to defend themselves. They want jobs for all but then push to allow millions of illegal aliens to come into and remain in America, taking many jobs, plus they want to increase the number of foreign nationals allowed in on a work visa to take jobs that belong to American citizens. They are so adamant about infringing on the right of free speech for conservatives, but fail to realize what will happen when the same happens to them. They protest against the things that made America prosperous and strong, but fail to realize what would happen if those things are lost. They insist on teaching kids they are nothing more than a product of millions of years of evolution and survival of the strongest and fittest in a world where there is no God and then they wonder why so many youths are committing suicide, doing drugs and turning to gangs and violence.

Democrats today are the equivalent of socialists as many of their policies are very socialistic in nature and purpose and one of those policies is the redistribution of wealth to solve what they believe is wealth inequality. One of the basic tenets of socialism is to take away as much wealth from the wealthy as possible to make the vast majority of the population dependent upon the government. They take from those who worked hard and made a success of themselves and give it to those who are lazy and don’t care to make anything of themselves and somehow believe this is the right thing to do.

Seattle is run by socialist Democrats who have been passing ordinances to prove it. They passed an ordinance to raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour and then wondered why so many businesses, especially restaurants, raised their prices, reduced the number of staff and/or reduced the hours of each worker, relocated outside the city or closed their doors for business. A year after the ordinance was passed it was found that the average person who was affected by the increased minimum wage actually taking home less pay than before.

They are sawing away at the branch they are sitting on.

They knew they couldn’t ban guns so they passed a gun and ammunition tax. Guess what? People in Seattle went outside the city to buy their guns and ammunition. After the first year, the realized a substantially lower amount of gun tax revenue than they counted on.

They are sawing away at the branch they are sitting on.

Then Seattle passed an ordinance to charge their own income tax on the wealthier people in the city. Any single person making $250,000 or more a year or a couple filing jointly making $500,000 or more a year would have to pay a city income tax equal to 2.2% of their net earnings. The city argued that this was done due to income inequality.

What the city Democrats fail to realize is that Democrats are now the wealthier class of Americans than Republicans and there are some very wealthy Democrats in the Seattle area.

In other words, they want to tax their own wealthy.

They are still sawing away at the branch they are sitting on.

The city’s tax on the wealthy was challenged in court and found to violate state law. Seattle officials plan on appealing the decision to the state Supreme Court.

They won’t be happy until that completely saw off the branch they are sitting on and then they’ll wonder what happened.
