I firmly believe that based upon biblical principles, abortion is murder. In US legal terms, I firmly believe that abortion is the premeditated murder (first degree) of an innocent person. I know may pastors who feel strongly the same way and they all say that if you really accept God’s Word as the only source of absolute truth, then man is not allowed to alter it or pick and choose what we want to believe and what we want to reject and therefore, abortion is murder and a sin.
Yet, when confronted with the opportunity to speak out on biblical truth concerning abortion on national television, Hillsong Pastor Carl Lentz waffled and danced around avoiding to give an answer. The response he did give was non-committal and compromising. Scripture is clear that one can sin by omission and that was clearly the case with Lentz, by omitting the biblical response he had opportunity to give. It has to cause us to doubt his sincerity of adherence to Scripture.
Hillsong worship songs are among the most listened to on my music playlist. I am dumbfounded that the pastor of Hillsong Church refused to call abortion a sin. Abortion is murder and murder is a sin. What’s the problem?
The skinny jeans and upbeat music makes him seem hip as he talks about Jesus, but if he cannot even admit that abortion is murder, then what exactly is his foundation made of?
Pastor Carl Lentz spoke on The View (yuck) last week with the group of blood sucking, pro-choice feminazis. When asked about his stance on abortion, he bypassed the opportunity to speak about life and instead offered a weak, disgusting, candy-coated response.
Joy Behar asked Lentz, “So, it’s not a sin in your church to have an abortion?”…
Why would anyone want to attend a church where the pastor refuses to take a bold stand for the Word of God? If he’s not willing to defend God’s Word on an important issue as abortion, what else does he compromise or waffle on? Is he embarrassed by Scripture? If so, he’s in the wrong business.
