North Korean tyrant Kim Jong-un has been threatening to destroy the United States ever since Donald Trump won the election last November. They have threatened to send nuclear missiles to the United States, the US territory of Guam and they have threatened to attack South Korea and Japan.
For months Kim and Trump have exchanged a war of words, but it appears that Trump is done talking for the most part after letting Kim know that if he dares to take any hostile action against the US or any of our allies, that the United States would totally destroy North Korea.
US military forces have been beefed up in the area with ships and other weaponry strategically positioned in the vicinity. Now, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, a Nimitz-class nuclear powered aircraft carrier left San Diego last week, headed for the Korean Peninsula.
There is little doubt left in the minds of global observers that the United States and North Korea are headed for a serious conflict.
The constant, belittling war of words that has been employed by both nations has escalated to unbelievable levels over the course of the last few months, with U.S. President Donald Trump matching the ferocity of Kim Jong Un’s threats in a series of tweets and on-camera soundbites.
For his part, Kim Jong Un has been pushing the envelope when it comes to military testing, not only proving to the world that his rogue regime is capable of reaching cities such as Chicago with an intercontinental ballistic missile, but also testing what very likely was the nation’s first thermonuclear device – a hydrogen bomb ten times more powerful than the weapons that the U.S. used to end World War II…
No one, except Kim Jong-un wants war. It will be costly both financially and in lives. The US values lives, but Kim Jong-un does not. All that matters to him is being in control of 25 million people to do his every whim and wish. However, if a war does break out, Kim won’t have nearly as many people to enslave nor will he have much of a country left.
