So often, we hear about people who are stuck in their bac situations with no way out because of their bad situations. Yet, there are those who refuse to accept that their bad situations are not escapable and one of those people was Makeva Jenkins. She posted on Facebook how she went from being homeless to making a multiple six figure income in just a few short years. Two hours later she was shot in the head and killed.
Makeva Jenkins shared her success story on Facebook Wednesday night to instill hope in others.
“I’m in awe of how far I’ve come,” Jenkins wrote. “Fast forward to now: We overcame being homeless in 2013/2014 to reaching my six figure mark in 2015 to now making multi six figures. No matter what the road looked like, I followed my heart and stuck with it growing my business. I’m saying this to say, anyone can do it. It takes determination and consistency.”
She was shot in her head Thursday morning in front of her family members, a few hours after writing the post, according to CBS 12. She died that morning.
Police say that a masked man entered the house, let the kids go to the backyard to play, but allowed several adult family members to remain in the house. After a brief altercation, the man shot Jenkins in the head, stole the family vehicle and fled. Authorities have not yet identified the man nor do they have a motive behind the shooting.
