In 2009, the House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told the nation that they have to pass the Affordable Care Act in order to find out what’s in it. To begin with, she and other Democrats knew exactly what was in it – 20 tax increases and a plan to force socialism on the American people and attack the Christian faith in America. Now the shoe is on the other foot and Senate Republicans are preparing to take a vote this week on their latest version of a healthcare plan to replace Obamacare. Some media headlines are ridiculing the planned vote be claiming that the GOP healthcare plan is still a mystery because no one is sure what’s in it. Have they forgotten that this is exactly what happened when the Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act in 2009? Have they forgotten the infamous words of their House leader Pelosi telling the nation they had to pass it in order to find out what’s in it?
The Senate will move forward with a key vote this week on a Republican health bill but it’s a mystery what exactly they will be voting on.
It is not yet known whether the legislation will seek to replace President Obama’s health care law or simply repeal it.
Sen. John Thune of South Dakota said Sunday that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will make a decision soon on which bill to bring up for a vote, depending on ongoing discussions with GOP senators. Thune sought to cast this week’s initial vote as important but mostly procedural, allowing senators to begin debate and propose amendments.
But he acknowledged senators should be able to know beforehand what bill they will be considering…
Democrats have no problems using questionable methods to accomplish their anti-American agenda. Yet they have tolerance when Republicans follow their example in trying to accomplish their agenda. There are two distinct set of standards in politics these days – one very low, questionable and sometimes illogical and illegal standards for Democrats and the other set of standards is one set so high for Republicans that it’s difficult for anyone to live up to.
