Have you ever wondered why liberal Democrats favor criminals, foreigners and even criminal foreigners over natural-born US citizens?
If you don’t think that’s true, then ask yourself why liberal Democrats have fought so hard to allow illegal aliens to remain in the US? Why have liberal Democrats fought so hard to keep President Donald Trump from building a border wall and securing our border? Why have they fought against Trump’s efforts to prevent possible terrorists from entering the United States as refugees and immigrants? Why have they passed laws that favor, protect and extend benefits to illegal aliens; benefits that are reserved for US citizens? Why have liberal Democrats, namely Barack Obama, pushed for more H1B visas to allow foreigners to come to the US and take jobs away from Americans? Why are liberal Democrats running many of our universities and colleges giving preferential treatment to illegal aliens over natural-born US citizens?
That last question is the subject of criticism being leveled at the University of California system and state lawmakers. In a really strange move, California state lawmakers threatened to withhold close to $20 million in funding if the state’s public university system did not restrict the number of out-of-state students attending the universities.
That is completely illogical to begin with. Currently, tuition and fees run around $13,500 for residents. Tuition and fees for out-of-state residents run around $40,182, yet it doesn’t cost the university system any more money to educated an out-of-state student than it does to educate a resident student. Since the University of California system makes an additional $26,682 for each out-of-state student, why in the world would they want to limit the number of them, especially when it’s already difficult to fund the state’s public university system?
Knowing they need the money and out-of-state students can be a huge source of needed revenue, the Board of Regents caved in to the threat of lawmakers and established Regent Policy 2109. The new policy places a limit on out-of-state students at 18% of the total student population.
However, there is no limit on how many illegal aliens are allowed to attend. Not only is there no limit on the number of illegal aliens allowed to attend the state’s public university system, but many illegals only have to pay in-state tuition, whereas natural-born US citizens from other states are required to pay the higher out-of-state tuition.
Kyle Olson, Founder of Education Action Group, told Fox News:
“The UC system, like many others around the country, is routinely giving preferential treatment to illegal aliens at the expense of American students, many of whom are attending at great sacrifice of their parents.”
“It is disturbing to know the UC system is not even sure how many illegal students it has enrolled and is enabling by not enforcing our immigration laws.”
In allowing illegals to pay in-state tuition, the University of California system is in violation of a 1996 federal law that reads:
“An alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible on the basis of residence within a state for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit (in no less an amount, duration and scope) without regard to whether the citizen or national is such a resident.”
Yet, in defiance of the federal law, some states run by liberal Democrats have passed their own laws that allow illegals to pay in-state tuition, while still forcing Americans to pay out-of-state tuition. Adding insult to injury is the new policy restricting out-of-state American students from attending one of the California schools, while no such restriction has been made for illegals.
“Ultimately, and ironically, the California government is actually penalizing Californians by not counting illegals as out-of-state students and thus allowing them to, in effect, take seats away from in-state students.”
Yet, this should not be surprising since California is the only state that has declared itself to be a sanctuary state for illegals.
But why are liberal Democrats so determined to give more benefits to illegal aliens than they want to give to American citizens?
