When you take time to evaluate what some liberals say, you have to wonder if they even have a brain in their head to reason with. They become so blinded by their liberal ideology, that they often lose all common-sense and reason, especially when they place that ideology ahead of the safety and welfare of others, including children.

When you think about many of the things that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer and Michael Bloomberg, have said, it becomes obvious that their agendas supersede reason and common-sense. When it comes to guns, all of them would prefer to leave every law-abiding citizen defenseless against any criminal who chooses to victimize them.

Politicians aren’t the only liberals who have lost their sense of reason and common-sense due to their warped ideology. Tara Haelle, a contributor to Forbes, is one such liberal who seems to have lost all common sense and reason.

Her recent post was titled How to Keep Your Child Safe From Gun Violence, and when you read what she wrote, it actually places children and everyone else in the home, in danger of becoming helpless victims of ruthless criminals.

Guess what her solution to keeping kids safe is?

“There three main steps you can take, expanded upon below. First, remove all firearms from the home. Second, if you are unable or unwilling to remove all guns from the home, stored them unloaded in a locked safe with ammunition locked up elsewhere. Third, ask the household members of every home your child visits whether they have firearms in the home and, if so, whether they are safely stored as above.”

Yep, you read it right, she wants every home with kids to either get rid of guns or make the guns completely useless for self-defense if needed. How would Haelle explain her statements to someone like Kendra St. Clair. In 2012 Kendra was only 12-years-old when someone broke into her home when she was there alone. Frightened, she called her mom who told her to grab mom’s handgun, a .40 caliber Glock, hide in mom’s closet and call 9-1-1. The intruder made his way to mom’s bedroom and was trying to open the closet when Kendra fired one shot through the closet door. She hit the intruder in the shoulder causing him to flee the house. A short time later, police apprehended the intruder. Had Haelle had her way, young Kendra would have been left defenseless and at the mercy of the intruder. Who knows what he would have done to the girl had she not had her mom’s gun and shot him?

Or how would Haelle explain her rationale to a Houston family when a pair of strangers broke into their house when their 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter were home alone. After finding the front door locked, the strangers tried the back door and again found it locked. Then they broke in through a back window only to be greeted by the 15-year-old boy holding his father’s AR-15 assault-style rifle. Fearing for the safety of his sister and himself, the teenager opened fire on the two suspects, who fled the house as quickly as they could.

The boy immediately called his father who was a deputy constable in Harris County Precinct 1. A short time later an adult male and a juvenile showed up at Tomball hospital. The adult male was reported to have had at least three bullet wounds that were serious enough to warrant him being transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The juvenile was taken back to the crime scene to be identified and arrested.

It turns out that this house wasn’t the first targeted in the cul-de-sac by the burglars, but it definitely was their last. Police believe it was the same pair of burglars who had broken into a house next-door and stolen nearly everything they could carry.

I would love to see Tara Haelle convince Sarah McKinley of Oklahoma City of her liberal, anti-gun disarming agenda. In September 2011, Sarah, 18-years-old, gave birth to a little boy. What should have been a blessed event and bring hope to the future, soon faded away as her husband died of cancer on Christmas Day. One of the two bright lights in Sarah’s life had been snuffed out and all she had left was her three-month-old infant son, to whom she clung to for all the world was worth.

On the day of her husband’s funeral, Sarah was visited by a young man who claimed to be a neighbor that just wanted to stop by and say hello. She did not let him in her house as she did not know him.

On New Year’s Eve, the same young man, 24-year-old Justin Martin returned to Sarah’s house and wanted in. This time, Justin was accompanied by a friend, Dustin Stewart and a 12-inch long hunting knife. Fortunately, Sarah’s doors were locked as the two men tried to enter the house, but could not. Instead of leaving, they continued to knock on the door, try the door knob and then proceeded to check other doors and windows. Sarah quickly went to the bedroom, put a baby bottle in her son’s mouth, grabbed her 12-gauge shotgun and handgun and then called 9-1-1.

When speaking to 9-1-1, she asked if she was allowed to shoot an intruder since it was just her and her baby home alone.  The operator said they could not give that permission but that she did need to use whatever means necessary to protect her son and herself.

Sarah shouted out to the would-be intruders that she had a shotgun, but that did not deter them. Eventually, Martin kicked in Sarah’s door and went after her with the hunting knife in his hand. In an act of self-preservation, Sarah fired her 12-gauge shotgun, dropping Martin in his tracks. Martin’s accomplice, Dustin Stewart fled the scene, but later turned himself in to police.

When the police finally arrived, they found Martin lying dead in a pool of blood. After examining the evidence of the door kicked in, the knife, and the 9-1-1 call, the police ruled the shooting was a justified use of deadly force in self-protection.

In all of these instances and many more like them, Haelle would rather see these young people left defenseless and at the mercy of the criminals. No one knows what Martin and Stewart planned to do with Sarah had they managed to break into her house, but fortunately, she didn’t have to find out.

Haelle needs to realize that criminals do NOT abide by laws but most homeowners do, By forcing homes with kids in them to get rid of all guns or to keep them unloaded and locked up, only leaves these families vulnerable to those who don’t care about laws anyway. Haelle’s solution only puts every household in danger and could result in more people becoming victims. I bet if someone broke into her house and threatened to do all kinds of things to her, that she wished she had a loaded gun, but she wants to deny others of having that option.
