In 1996, liberal President and adulterer Bill Clinton celebrated the Islamic holiday of Ramadan at the White House. Every president since, including Bush who professed to be a Christian, celebrated Ramadan at the White House. This year, President Donald Trump, broke the 21-year tradition by not celebrating the end of the month of Ramadan, which ended Saturday and sundown.
For the first time in twenty years, the White House has not held a celebration to mark the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which ended at sunset on Saturday.
President Donald Trump did issue official statements for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, a festival that marks the end of the month-long daytime fast. Even those statements, however, lingered on terrorists and terrorism that many felt held all Muslims responsible for the actions of a few.
“I reiterate my message delivered in Riyadh: America will always stand with our partners against terrorism and the ideology that fuels it,” the Ramadan statement read, in part. “During this month of Ramadan, let us be resolved to spare no measure so that we may ensure that future generations will be free of this scourge and able to worship and commune in peace.” …
In 1892, Supreme Court Justice Josiah Brewer wrote in the decision of Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States, that based upon overwhelming evidence, America is a Christian nation. Sadly, the Supreme Court has since ruled that America is not a Christian nation and at the moment, I have to agree. However, we are not an Islamic nation either and Americans should fight every effort to make it such. Hoorah for President Trump for not officially celebrating Ramadan.
