Trump Administration Pursuit of Lawsuits Against Media Could Spell Doom for Conservative Groups

According to reports, the Trump White House is looking into changing libel laws so that it would be easier to file lawsuits against the media. If he succeeds, it would open the doors for liberals to file lawsuits against many conservative media outlets like ours in an effort to shut them down and silence all opposition. Some organizations like Google and Facebook are already taking action to hurt and silence conservative websites and Trump could inadvertently provide the final nail in our coffin.

Reviving a controversial theme that President Trump brought up on the campaign trail, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus said Sunday that the administration has “looked at” potential changes to libel laws that would make it easier for Trump to sue news organizations that criticize him.

“I think it’s something that we’ve looked at,” Priebus told Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week.”

“How that gets executed or whether that goes anywhere is a different story,” he added.

Making it easier to sue a media source for libel could cause many conservative companies like Fox News, The Blaze, WND and our company to go bankrupt due to spending money on legal fees. Trust me, that’s not a genie that Trump should let out of the bottle.
