Haley Tells North Korea to Stop Missile Launches if They Want to Talk with US

North Korean Dictator Kim Jong-un continues to tell anyone who will listen that he welcomes talks with the United States in hopes of averting a nuclear war. However, he continues to defy every world leader by continuing to develop and test ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads. After the latest test of what many believed to be a new and more sophisticated missile, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stated that launching missiles is NOT the way to get the US to the table to talk.

If Kim Jong Un wants to meet President Trump, he’s going the wrong way about it, Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said Sunday after North Korea’s latest missile launch.

The missile appeared to have a significantly longer range than others North Korea has tested recently, analysts said, suggesting Kim’s regime had tested a new kind of rocket, perhaps a precursor to an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the mainland United States.

This latest provocation coincided with the opening of the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, concerning Chinese President Xi Jinping’s ambitious development project. This could encourage China to use its leverage over North Korea to stop the missile and nuclear tests, as Trump has been urging Xi to do…

If Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump were to meet to talk, where would it take place? Kim does not seem very keen on leaving his haven of North Korea and Donald Trump would be out of his mind to go to North Korea. The only possible venue for any such peace talk might be China, but even then, it would be extremely dangerous for both leaders.
