Black University Students Boo Commencement Speaker Betsy DeVos

Excuse me if I’m wrong, but most black Americans are Democrats. Many black Americans are also caught up in the current racial tension that was exacerbated by Barack Obama. Combined, it makes them among the very intolerant and that intolerance was demonstrated when Education Secretary Betsy DeVos took to podium to speak at the graduation commencement at historically black Bethune-Cookman University.

Students booed, and many turned their backs on Education Secretary Betsy DeVos as she gave the keynote address at Bethune-Cookman University’s commencement Wednesday afternoon.

The speech was part of an ongoing effort by President Trump and DeVos to reach out to historically black schools. But many students and alumni had objected to having DeVos as speaker in part because they said that outreach is an empty gesture. But the president of the university defended her work as a philanthropist and her commitment to education.

The speech attracted national attention at a time of heated debates over academic freedom; at many schools, protests have broken out when students objected to the views of controversial speakers, while others defended their right to voice unpopular views. Some saw the demonstrations against the speech as righteous indignation, while others saw a lack of civility…

If liberal Democrats want to be taken seriously, they need to start acting like mature adults and instead of pouting, temper tantrum throwing immature juveniles. Another thing they need to realize is that few people respect a whiner or take a whiner seriously. They are usually considered to be immature. If they start acting like mature adults then perhaps they will be taken more seriously and others will listen to them instead of laughing at them or despising them.
