During the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump made a lot of promises that helped him win the votes of millions of conservatives. Some of those promises he had already kept, others he has tried to keep but has been blocked by Democratic liberals and Republican cowards, and others he is still working on.
Trump promised to repeal and place Obamacare, but congressional Republicans were unprepared to win the election and therefore had not yet drafted a replacement. Then they were rushed to meet an arbitrary deadline and what they offered was not suitable, so for the time being, Obamacare remains.
Trump also promised to cut spending and work towards a balanced budget and reducing the national debt. He had taken a number of steps in that direction.
